Hello to you all who find yourselves reading this :)

First of all, thank so very much for all the faves and comments. I want to hug you all, hehe.

I hope everyone is doing alright, and have made the most of their year. Mine has had it's ups and downs, but it has certainly been interesting.

Keep on taking photographs, drawing, painting, knitting and writing! So yeah, have a good one everbody!

Something Between a Geek and a Nerd

Hello everyone :)

You may have noticed I haven't been submitting much of anything lately... I've been very uninspired, but rest assured I will finish the promised Doctor Who/Stargate/other stuff at some point.

I've been knitting and crocheting a lot though. Anything from tiny animals to monsters from Doctor Who. I even made a Stargate the other day (which I think I'll post later today).

Yes, my life is wild. On a side note, a friend pointed me here: [link] and according to the table I am something between a geek and a nerd, and I quite like being there, hehe.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you're all doing well :)

~Sini

Wibbly-Wobbly Timey-Wimey

Still trying to get a hang of this blogging stuff, but decided to update my journal anyway, haha.

First off, thanks to all the comments on my ponderings about the last two episodes, it is/was fun to read your opinions and for all the nice comments on my other works (and all the faves - Partners in Time has 162, how did that happen?!) You truly are the best.

Still going through the piles of Doctor Who sketches, unfinished drawings etc. I've been thinking of submitting some of them to my scraps or alternatively doing some sorf of collage. I have no idea what to do with them :S

Also, does anyone know of a screencap where Wilf is looking straight at the camera? I've been looking everywhere, but can't seem to find one.

Besides trying to find the Wilf picture, I spent most of the day watching Fawlty Towers and trying to draw at the same time, which was more than a little difficult because I was laughing till my sides hurt. Let's just say that Basil accidentally got a nose the sife of his shoe, but that's fixed now :D Also drew some sketches of Donna and Rose (DW - what a surprise...). Geez, I'm predictable!

Until next time... hope you weren't too bored with this bit of trivial babble.

~Sini

P.S. Journey's End poll is still going, a lot of love for the episode with some disappointment lurking around the corner :D

Journey's End...

Sun Jul 6, 2008, 1:47 AM
  • Mood: Confused
Well, what can I say... bits of the episode I loved, others I hated. This sums up a lot of my thoughts: [link]

It was a bit of a letdown really, in my eyes. After all the build-up of 'The Stolen Earth' something was missing (certainly not characters, there were plenty of them! :D)

Blue and Pin Stripe and DoctorDonna... Oh Donna! How I'll miss you. Luckily in Doctor Who, everything can happen and is reversible or otherwise circumvented, so maybe some day in the future we'll see her again. It was so obvious that she would be the one lost and after they left Bad Wolf Bay you just knew that soon she'd be gone. And Wilf! He was brilliant and as always, wonderfully acted by Bernard Cribbins. Even though he never received much screentime, understandably so, I'll miss him too.

Speaking of Bad Wolf Bay... I'm still not sure how I feel about Rose and hybrid Doctor living happily ever after in the alternate universe. Do I want Rose to have a happy ending? Yes. Would I like her to be a companion and see her in the future? Yes. And these two wishes contradict tragically. Very unlikely we'll ever see her again (but... see above) but at least fanficcers now have more material for thousands of Doctor/Rose fics. In truth, I would have liked to have her back as a companion, but we can't always get what we want, and that was always highly unlikely.

I was pleased to see Mickey and Jackie again. I actually really liked Mickey in the episode, even if his screentime was limited. Also, really loved how he told Jackie he'd miss her the most.

Sarah Jane, Luke and K9 :) They make me smile. I loved the moment when Davros recognised her. Classic series references are always welcomed.

Martha... Well, glad she didn't use the Osterhagen key! But as always with Martha, I like her, but she rarely provokes any emotion in me. She was there, she considered blowing up the Earth and then everything turned out alright so to speak.

And Jack, he was Jack(despite him having interesting thoughts after hearing about the three Doctors). But I was glad to see him walk off with Martha and Mickey. At least we know who'll be appearing on Torchwood next year.

Rest assured, Davros survived... he'll never be gone, just like the daleks! But just like everything else, he too was a bit disappointing after TSE. Not because of Julian Bleach, but because of the episode. Why oh why waste all the potential they had? They could've finished S4 with such a bang, but instead we got a thump. It wasn't bad, and I'll watch the episode again and again over the years, but I'll always think what could've happened.

---

Well, I'll start working on a S4 drawing, could take a while, but I really want it to be good. Also, after what happened to Donna, the light of S4, I want to draw something with her as the centre, so that too will be coming at some point.

There's a Journey's End poll on the right so feel free to vote :)

Holy Stolen Earth!

  • Watching: The Stolen Earth (again...)
Now that's what I call an episode! And the cliffhanger... gah! Any way I could sleep until next Saturday? I can't wait!

And no 'next time'... I understand why, because they want to keep everything a secret and not let us see what happens to the Doctor because of his apparent regeneration (I read somewhere he might split in two, that's be interesting, but I'll take anything!) but my god, I was jumping in my seat during those final seconds.

Despite being five minutes longer than usual, the episode was full of action, every minute of it, and a all those companions! Did anyone else find the opening titles funny because the names were flashing by at such an incredible speed. And they pulled it off too, even ifsome characters didn't get much exposure, but that's a bit hard to avoid in an episode as fast-paced as this one. All three shows brought together to an extent... and Jack got round to chatting up Sarah Jane :D

Davros. Glad they didn't remodel him as much as some other villains and really hope they pull this arc off, I don't want Davros to end up as the guy who came back at the end of S4 and meh, not that impressive. But I have high hopes for the finale and I think it'll be good!

The clues and other mentions during the season had the forums abuzz, and some light was shed on the Medusa Cascade, the bees and the Shadow Proclamation (which has been around since... can you remember that far back?) which is always very rewarding. And what was up with the Judoon? Will we see them in the next episode?

We got our reunion, which had me grinning like a moron, even if it was obvious hat something would happen before the Doctor and Rose got to each other.

The ending, WOW! Brilliant. Let's just say that my heart's still racing and the wait... it's going to be a painfully long week for a lot of fans! And no preview, oh, the anticipation is killing me!

At least I got superb material for DW drawings and I've been planning a series 4 poster of some kind and now I can't wait to see Journey's End so I can make the final sketch before drawing the real thing! Me, hyped up? No denying! :D
